Like many of our weekends since moving, this weekend was filled with family time. Which was a huge part of why we decided to completely uproot our lives and move across the country. (side note, I still can’t believe how many changes there have been this summer, it’s been CRAZY!)
Friday night we drove up to Galion to support our brother-in-law Matt, who’s in his first year as the head coach for Galion Tigers, with my other brother-in-law Curt. I forgot how much fun high school football games are, which is a good thing, as we’ll be at many more this fall, cheering on the Tigers.
Continuing our exploration of our new state, we stopped at Tavern at the Creek, in Galena, for pizza and beer on the way home from the game… It could not have been more perfect, sitting out side, eating pizza, drinking beer, and listening to the crickets and the water.
Saturday was spent playing with three of our nephews, splashing around in the pool, chasing the dogs, & BBQ-ing with friends & family…. and then naps, because sun, humidity, and water can really take it out of you… Saturday was the first time that we’ve had a big pot luck/getting lots of people together since we moved, and it was PEEERRRFECT.
Dinner was exploring again, to a place Jeff found in Dublin, Los Gaucho’s Taqueria… their al pastor tacos were to die for, and thankfully, it’s an easy drive from the house we just bought. (excuse the crappy cell phone quality photo, as we were both drooling from smelling the tacos the whole drive home, and didn’t want to wait for me to bust out my big camera)
Sunday brought on more exploring, this time to the Columbus Art Museum, and then lunch at Acre, a farm to table place here in Clintonville. We’re very much still in a place that we compare everything to Portland, and even by those lofty food standards this place kicked ass. (Check out their menu & website here) I opted for a Thai chicken wrap & chai tea, Jeff went for their mole bowl, and we both ordered the sweet corn cookie, which sounds weird, but is amazeballs.
So here we are again on another Monday, getting the week off to a productive start, planning out this week’s shoots, dealing with the paperwork side of things, planning for next weekends road trip, and the following weeks trip to Portland.
Happy Monday y’all!
